Mechanistic principles of regulation by small RNAs

Our hypothesis is that sRNAs may regulate different targets by different mechanisms in which they interfere with or assist various processes that involve the mRNA, such as translation, transcription elongation, pre-mature transcription termination and cleavage by endoribonucleases. We use RNA-seq-based large-scale approaches to determine a fine-grained network of sRNA-target interactions, which includes the information of the regulatory mechanism(s) employed on the various targets.
